At our annual Fellows & Instructors Convention Sam York FBHS held a short demonstration with a device that is designed to show you if your horse is over bent or above the bridle. This prompted an interesting discussion about modern methods emerging on the market to assist training. At this time the reins were still being tested so I hesitated to mention them but decided to….
Sam was very interested in seeing them which led me to sending her a pair to test. Further to that Sam invited the reins to the demonstration she was heading at the BHS Instructors Conference. Sam was heading a section purely using new gadgets.

Revelations reins took another road test trip. This time to Caron Roberts yard in Cirencester. Caron is friend of mine but a fierce critic who does not suffer fools gladly! Dressage trainer, Advanced event rider and accredited coach, I couldn’t find anyone better to give me more feedback. One of her top tips when training riders with the reins was to suggest trying to retract the red – in effect – hands to the horses’ mouth – rather than thinking about not showing the red in the first place. I thought that was such a simple but effective way of putting it. Very Caron!
